Tulum–Cobá Road
Gran Cenote
Clear, shallow pools linked by caverns, with turtles and easy snorkeling.
Overview
A small open cenote you enter by jumping through a hole in the rock.
Calavera, the skull, gets its name from three holes in the limestone roof. Most visitors jump through the largest one into deep blue water about three metres below; a ladder offers a calmer way in.
It is small, simple and close to town, which makes it an easy add-on to a morning at Gran Cenote.
